The Greek police confiscated all of the refugees belongings. This act of theft happened after the Greek Police interrogated the refugees leaving them confused and frightened. The Greek police then passed the refugees minus their belongings to the Turkish authorities. By this action the Greek Port police treated the refugees in an unlawful manner violating both the European Court of Human Rights and the Geneva Convention of Refugee Rights.<\/span><\/h5>\n<h5><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Huge waves of millions of refugees have been forced to flee there homes. The refugee crisis is a continuing world wide catastrophe unrelated to a specific area or country. This phenomenon is due to conflicts between blocks of imperialist countries aiming to divide areas of authority in order to find markets for their products.<\/span><\/h5>\n<h5><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Military intervention, economic sanctions, a political gap, war and proxy wars by states, groups, mercenary parties, and terrorist groups have worsened this in humane situation. So, war, safety, nationality hatred between people has led to forced compulsory migration of refugees including the refugees that fled to Greece, hoping to distance themselves from their war-torn and poverty-driven countries.<\/span><\/h5>\n<h5><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">IFIR condemns the actions of the Port police and asks that the:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Greek Authorities launch a formal investigation against the perpetrators; stop deporting refugees; respect the human rights of refugees under EU and international law; treat all refugees in a humane way thus ensuring this occurrence is not repeated.<\/span><\/h5>\n<h5><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong>International Federation of Iraqi Refugees-IFIR<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<h5><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong>2\/7\/2021<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our Turkish representative reported to us that on 28 June, 42 refugees on the Greek border with Turkey were stripped naked, following arrest by Greek police.
