Lithuanian government uses dogs to attack refugees<\/span><\/h3>\n

According to information given to IFIR by some refugees, they have been protesting in the camps as they are living in inhumane conditions. Screaming for freedom the Lithuanian government retaliated against these protests by unleashing dogs to attack the refugees. These people are in need of a suitable place to live and an adequate amount of food to survive. In Lithuania there are 4 refugee camps with 4500 refugees in total. They are suffering from the atrocious actions of their government using violence as a means of action, not allowing them to have legal representation\u00a0or enough food and drink. \u00a0IFIR condemns the Lithuanian government and urges them to stop the violence towards the refugees and answer their demands by giving them the right to have their demands accepted.<\/span><\/h3>\n

IFIR asks the European Court of Human Rights to condemn the actions of the Lithuanian government and put pressure on the EU to take responsibility for these\u00a0actions. The EU should also put pressure on Poland, Ukraine and Lithuania to open their borders to respect the refugees, who include children and women who are on the edge of death with lack of water and food.<\/span><\/h3>\n

IFIR calls all the refugee, human right organizations, trade unionists and activists to stop the barbaric actions of the Lithuanian government and also asks Ukraine and Poland to open their borders to accept the rights of refugees and stopping refugee rights being used as political pawns by Belarus and EU.<\/span><\/h3>\n
