A demonstration was held today (8 March 2022) in front of the KRG Office in London to mark International Women\u2019s Day.
\nThe demands of the demonstration were: Killing women under the pretext of “honor” is a crime and the perpetrators must face the harshest punishment
\nThe Polygamy Law of the Kurdistan Parliament is disrespectful to women and must be abolished.<\/p>\n


\nIt is the duty of the government to pay unemployment benefit to unemployed women and graduates of universities and institutes.
\nPatriarchy and backwardness are enemies of women’s rights and freedom.
\nPolygamy is disrespectful to women and the perpetrators must face legal punishment.
\nThe demonstrators chanted the following slogans:
\n1)Honour crime is dishonourable
\n2) Honour crime is evil
\n5) long live equality
\n6) long live international Women\u2019s day
\nAt the end of the demonstration a protest letter was handed to the KRG UK representative.
\nThe Demonstration was organised by:
\nKurdish and Middle Eastern Women\u2019s organization, International Federation of Iraqi refugees, Worker -communist party of Kurdistan .UK organization
