\nOn behalf of the International Federation of Iraqi Refugees (IFIR) and the people detained in Harmondsworth,brockhouse\u00a0and\u00a0Colnbrook detention\u00a0centres, I would like to thank everyone who came out today to oppose the planned deportation of Iraqi Kurds, some of whom have been in the UK for more than 20 years. These refugees are married with small children.
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
We are protesting in front of your office against the inhumane agreements you\u00a0struck\u00a0with the UK Home Office.
\n\u00a0
\nThe Home Office has detained a number of Iraqi Kurdish asylum seekers in Harmondsworth,brockhous and Colnbrook detention centres in the last three weeks. The Home Office has given them tickets to fly back to Erbil tomorrw.
\n\u00a0
\nThis policy, we believe, is the result of a recent meeting between\u00a0Priti\u00a0Patel and Kurdish Regional Government\u2019s\u00a0Prime Minister Masrour Barzani during his\u00a0recent\u00a0visit to the UK.
\n\u00a0
\nKRG must be aware that as a result of this\u00a0shamefulagreement,\u00a0they\u00a0are removing families and children from their fathers. These people have spent many years establishing themselves in the United Kingdom.\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nDo you want to send them back to a country\u00a0which lacks fundamental necessities such as power, water, medication, and freedom?\u00a0To a country where human rights\u00a0are routinely violated.\u00a0When people\u00a0demonstrate, the government uses live ammunition to attack them. Many people, including journalists who have spoken out against corruption and government policies, have been killed, imprisoned, or arrested.

\nPeople are angry because you refuse to accept responsibility for the suffering of your own citizens.\u00a0You must take responsibility for this shameful deal with the UK Government.\u00a0
\nWe demand that the KRG\u00a0must\u00a0stop accepting refugees who have been forcibly returned to Erbil Airport by closing the airport.
\nWe also urge that the arrangement made with the UK government be cancelled.
