Our fight to stop transferring refugees to Rwanda, continues!<\/p>\n

On Friday, the Royal Court of Justice heard the cases of several refugees who are to be sent to Rwanda. The session was attended by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, representatives of refugee rights organisations and lawyers defending the refugee case. <\/p>\n
After the evidence of the illegality of several cases and the UNHCR report against the excuses put forward by the British Home Office, especially regarding the unpreparedness of Rwanda and the possibility of deportation of refugees again to Rwandan borders and trafficking them and the unpreparedness of the officials to respect asylum seekers\u2019 cases. <\/p>\n
The deportation of five refugees on Friday 10 June, subsequently two more over the weekend, were canceled. The judge decided to deal with the refugees\u2019 situation case by case, but unfortunately the deportation of refugees to Rwanda was not stopped. The court is scheduled to convene again on Monday 13 June to review the decision. <\/p>\n
IFIR\u2019s Secretary, Dashty Jamal, said “Unfortunately, despite our and other refugee rights organizations\u2019 best efforts against trafficking of refugees, the court failed to end the inhuman policy of the Boris Johnson’s government. The judge’s decision is questionable”. Further to this Dashty said \u201cthey will continue to fight against this bigoted policy and expose its brutality worldwide.\u201d<\/p>\n
Dashty Jamal also said that from 9 to 5 on Monday 13th June the IFIR alongside other human and refugee organizations will continue to protest against the policy in front of the Royal Court of Justice. <\/p>\n
