\nIFIR is a grassroots network fighting for the rights and dignity of refugees especially Kurdish and Iraqi<\/span>
\nasylum seekers. We\u2019ve been on the frontlines for many years, standing up to deportations, racism, and<\/span>
\nhostile immigration systems that treat people like problems instead of human beings.<\/span>
\nWe believe home is where you live, love, and contribute, not what\u2019s written in your passport. Refugees<\/span>
\nare people just like us they deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.<\/span>
\nWe\u2019re not just defending rights we are organising, building solidarity, and pushing for a world without<\/span>
\nborders, where justice comes first.<\/span>
\nWhat we do to achieve this:<\/span>
\n\u2022 Support refugees facing detention or deportation<\/span>
\n\u2022 Oppose racism, fascism, and discrimination<\/span>
\n\u2022 Defend the rights of women and children in migration<\/span>
\n\u2022 Help refugees build collective power<\/span>
\n\u2022 Link with trade unions and justice movements worldwide<\/span>
\n\u2022 Provide emergency support in both detention centres and unsafe housing<\/span>
\n\u2022 Work across the world focussing on Europe, Canada, Turkey, and the Kurdistan<\/span>
\n\u2022 Run grassroots campaigns against racist immigration policies<\/span>
\n\u2022 We were among the first to campaign against the UK Government\u2019s Rwanda deportation plan<\/span>
\nstanding with threatened refugees until the last person was released<\/span>
\n\u2022 We have also successfully stopped deportation flights to Iraq<\/span>
\n2<\/span>
\n\u2022 Exposed abuse in immigration prisons and hostels<\/span>
\n\u2022 Organise legal support and protests.<\/span>
\nReal Stories. Real Impact<\/span>
\nCase Study 1: Rebuilding After Trauma \u2013 A Refugee Mother\u2019s Story<\/span>
\n\u201cI arrived in the UK with my husband and two children after a horrific journey. A smuggler lied to us and<\/span>
\nforced us onto a small boat. Before boarding, gasoline spilled on me I was soaked, freezing, and pregnant.<\/span>
\nWhen we reached the UK, I was seriously burned. At the hospital, a doctor gave us IFIR\u2019s number. They<\/span>
\ncame immediately with food, clothes, and compassion. They listened, supported our mental health, and<\/span>
\nhelped us begin to heal.<\/span>
\nToday, I carry scars but also hope. IFIR treated us with dignity when no one else did.\u201d<\/span>
\nCase Study 2: \u2018They Wanted Me Dead. The Federation Helped Me Live.\u2019<\/span>
\n\u201cI\u2019m a young Iraqi woman who protested against corruption and for women\u2019s rights. My family called it<\/span>
\nshame and tried to kill me. I fled and lived in hiding for nearly two years, hunted across borders.<\/span>
\nEventually, I reached a neighbouring country and was connected to IFIR. They took immediate steps to<\/span>
\nprotect me relocating me, keeping my identity secure, and providing legal and emotional support.<\/span>
\nBecause of IFIR, I am alive, free, and rebuilding my life.\u201d<\/span>
\nWe receive no government funding. Every action we take is powered by people like you.<\/span>
