The murder of Wedat Hussein a journalist from Duhok city is a dangerous sign of continuos terrorism in Kurdish society

Wedat Hussein who was only 28 was murdered Saturday 13 August. Wadat was kidnapped and killed.  His body was found in Sejey, in the Semell district of Duhok city.

The kidnapping took place in broad day light in front of many people’s eyes, in a city which is full of security forces.  Widat’s kidnap and murder was completely unjustified. This murder is clear evidence of the continuing threat of kidnapping and terror in Kurdistan.  The International Federation of Iraqi Refugees-(IFIR) calls on the KDP to use all resources in their power to apprehend and bring Wehid’s murderers to justice

The International Federation of Iraqi Refugees (IFIR) condemns terror and we believe that this killing represents the murder of freedom of opinion and human rights.

The International Federation of Iraqi Refugees (IFIR) sends condolences to Wedat’s relatives and friends for this cruel action . Further to this we promise to be at the forefront of all organisations calling for political freedom, human rights and the unrestricted right of freedom of the press and freedom of speech in Kurdistan.
