Support the civilians of Mosul!

The people of Mosul need your urgent support don’t let them suffer bombardment and be used as a Human Shield!

 An offensive in the name of “liberating Mosul and defeating ISIS” by international imperialist forces headed by the USA has started today morning 17th October.  More than a million innocent people, women, elders and children, are now being militarily besieged. On one side, people are faced with bombardment of these forces. On the other side, they have become hostages and human shields by ISIS. They can find no way out, they are experiencing devastation and being murdered.

Eradicating ISIS is no doubt, an undeniable wish of civilised humanity and freedom-loving people. However the barbarism practised by the US-led alliance in the name of “combating terrorism” is not acceptable as their actual aim is to re-divide the area and to share the riches amongst the international and local forces.

This so-called attack on ISIS is an excuse to create humanitarian tragedies in the region. This war is not against terrorism; rather terrorism and ISIS are excuses and political cards to hide the crimes behind this war and mislead the view of the civilised humanity from the facts behind the war. It is a war between the different interests and the positions of the super power countries, and at the same time the competition between two terrorist camps, state terrorism and non-state terrorism. Therefore, protesting against the tragic outcomes and protecting the civilians of Mosel is a must.

The outcomes and catastrophe this war will bring will not end terrorism but rather exceed the risk of terrorism, racism and national and religious prejudices. It will put free and civilised humanity under the threat of terrorism. 

We believe humanity, working class and freedom-loving people can be a decisive force to end the spectre of ISIS and forces alike against humanity. It is the duty of the civilised humanity and freedom-loving camp to step ahead and get on the ground against this terrorist competition.

The outcomes of which are so catastrophic and put the imperialists and give European countries a huge responsibility. The killing of civilians in Mosul for any reason is a war crime. The European countries continue to close their borders towards the refugees yet they are still a part of the forces destroying the people’s homes. This means they are violating all humanitarian measures, values and laws.

This war will escalate the refugee crises. People are risking their lives at sea, facing death to flee the hell of war, and still European Governments keep their borders closed. That is why, we in the International Federation of Iraqi Refugees ask for an immediate help for the civilians of Mosul.
A way to evacuate the people of Mosul and maintain their homes must be found as soon as possible. We also ask the civilised humanity and freedom-loving front of the world to break their silence; raise their voices of protest; stand against the international community and participating countries in this war and bear the responsibility for the life of the civilians in Mosul.

At the same time we call on the UN, the immigration ministries of all countries and humanitarian organisations to do their best to secure good and safe places for the displaced people. It is also very important to prevent any revenge based on racism and ethnocentric hatred.
