8th of March is a protest day against discrimination, oppression, and women’s inequality.

A demonstration was held today (8 March 2022) in front of the KRG Office in London to mark International Women’s Day.
The demands of the demonstration were: Killing women under the pretext of “honor” is a crime and the perpetrators must face the harshest punishment
The Polygamy Law of the Kurdistan Parliament is disrespectful to women and must be abolished.


It is the duty of the government to pay unemployment benefit to unemployed women and graduates of universities and institutes.
Patriarchy and backwardness are enemies of women’s rights and freedom.
Polygamy is disrespectful to women and the perpetrators must face legal punishment.
The demonstrators chanted the following slogans:
1)Honour crime is dishonourable
2) Honour crime is evil
5) long live equality
6) long live international Women’s day
At the end of the demonstration a protest letter was handed to the KRG UK representative.
The Demonstration was organised by:
Kurdish and Middle Eastern Women’s organization, International Federation of Iraqi refugees, Worker -communist party of Kurdistan .UK organization
