IFIR stands in solidarity with all workers striking across Britain!

Dear Comrade
International Federation of Iraqi Refugees-IFIR expresses our full solidarity with 1 February strike, involving 500,000 workers across multiple sectors, and with all striking workers in the ongoing strike wave. The strikers include railway workers, ambulance workers, firefighters, bus drivers, nurses, teachers, civil servants and others.

People are striking to get achieve a pay rise in line with inflation to ease the pressure of the cost-of-living crisis. Also in opposition to the proposed and existing anti-strike laws, which limit workers’ freedom to protest and strike and expose them to employers’ attacks.
As an organisation whose members include migrant workers across the world predominantly from an Iraqi and Kurdish and background, we participate in and support strikes in a spirit of solidarity. We also aspire to help the strike wave develop into a conscious movement for working-class power.
In Solidarity

Dashty Jamal

General Secretary of International Federation of Iraqi Refugees (IFIR)
