On behalf of the International Federation of Iraqi Refugees (IFIR) and the people detained in Harmondsworth,brockhouse and Colnbrook detention centres, I would like to thank everyone who came out today to oppose the planned deportation of Iraqi Kurds, some of whom have been in the UK for more than 20 years. These refugees are married with small children.

Detention and planned removal of Kurdish asylum seekers flight to Erbil, Northern Iraq

Dear Sir Madam
We are writing to register a formal complaint against the UK Border Agency with the UNHCR and European Court of Human Rights regarding the threatened forced deportation of Kurdish asylum seekers flight to Erbil on 31 May2022.
Zaki Chalabi, a political refugee and PKK supporter, was shot and wounded in Sulaymaniyah on Tuesday evening. He died on Wednesday evening from wounds sustained in Tuesday’s gun attack. Unidentified individuals on a motorcycle fired at least four times at the Deniz restaurant in the Bakhtiari area on Tuesday night, injuring Zaki Chalabi, the restaurant’s owner and the leader of the Mesopotamia Workers Organization.
A demonstration was held today (8 March 2022) in front of the KRG Office in London to mark International Women’s Day.
The demands of the demonstration were: Killing women under the pretext of “honor” is a crime and the perpetrators must face the harshest punishment
The Polygamy Law of the Kurdistan Parliament is disrespectful to women and must be abolished.
